Liverpool Mutual Homes
This innovative social housing project, comprising 33 two and three-bedroom units for affordable rent, exemplifies the use of modern construction methods. Built off-site in a factory using modular technology, these homes were designed specifically for Liverpool Mutual Homes (now Torus Developments).
Each building was delivered in volumetric units on the back of lorries, transported by road without the need for specialist escorts, then expertly craned into position at the site, showcasing both efficiency and precision in the construction process.
Working as design lead, JDA created a portfolio of homes that were 3 module delivery inclusive of roof which looked to meet the stringent requirements of both Local Authority and Registered Provider.
In conjunction with Willerby Homes, the meticulous coordination between our team and the manufacturers played a significant role in the project’s success, culminating in accolades such as:
· 2017 Finalist recognition for Best New Affordable Housing Scheme at the Housing Excellence Awards
· 2016 Offsite Awards shortlist for Best Use of Volumetric Technology.
Our Managing Director, Rob Henderson, also gained media attention by appearing on television to discuss the innovative construction process and the positive impact it has on the community.
