Client: Six Town Housing & Bury Council
Contractor: Eric Wright Group Ltd
Location: Bury
Program: RIBA Stage 1-7
"This is a magnificent scheme and one we can rightly be proud of. As more of us become older, the demand for later life care services continues to rise. This will go some way to helping us meet this demand.”
Six Town Housing
The scheme featured a thoughtfully designed Extra Care facility, constructed in a traditional manner, that incorporates 60 affordable apartments.
The apartments were designed to have a light, spacious and relaxing feel including features such as open plan living and kitchen areas, wetrooms, full height windows and Juliet balconies, offering views of the surrounding landscaped gardens.
The development not only prioritised comfortable living spaces but also cultivated a strong sense of community through its shared amenities. The facility included a welcoming Bistro, offering residents a pleasant experience where they can gather and socialise over meals.
A communal room served as a flexible space for activities and events, promoting interaction among residents. To enhance the well-being of residents, the facility features a hair and beauty salon, allowing for personal care services right on site, and a relaxing spa bathroom designed for rejuvenation and comfort.
Attention has been given to the external environment, with comprehensive boundary treatments that ensured privacy and security.
The scheme included both hard and soft landscaping, creating beautifully designed outdoor spaces that provide residents with access to nature and opportunities for outdoor activities, socialisation, and relaxation.
