The 14-unit mixed apartment and housing scheme in Wrexham was a milestone in local housing development, as it marked the first council homes built by the local authority in many years.

The initiative aimed to address the growing demand for affordable housing in the region whilst adhering to Welsh Design Quality standards, which ensured spacious, safe, secure and energy efficient properties.

The incorporation of sustainable design and technologies enabled the development to achieve an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) A rating. Not only demonstrating high energy efficiency but also contributing to reducing long-term energy costs for residents.

The installation of solar panels harnesses renewable energy, whilst the inclusion of battery storage systems allows for the efficient management of energy generated from solar panels. The technology enabling residents to store excess energy for later use, further enhancing energy resilience.
